THE OPPORTUNITYAs a Digital Merchandiser & Trading Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Senior Trade team with strategic online merchandising initiatives. By leveraging your expertise and analytical skills, you’ll drive high-impact decisions that enhance product performance, optimise the customer journey, and achieve commercial success across our digital platforms.Using your strong organisational skills, you’ll lead in the development and implementation of innovative merchandising strategies that align with both business objectives and seasonal trends. Overseeing key projects from end to end, you’ll use data-driven insights to refine site performance and visual merchandising, actively contributing to the improvement of processes and ensuring optimal site functionality. Through your deep understanding of customer behaviour, you’ll drive actions that increase conversion rates, maximise sales, and help meet team KPIs. You’ll collaborate across teams, including Marketing, Design and WebOps teams, to execute high quality, brand-aligned on-site experiences.You’ll be the person on speed dial for all front-end inquiries, using your initiative and expertise to manage resources effectively. You will challenge existing processes and propose innovative solutions that drive continuous improvement. You will proactively identify and address gaps in current practices, ensuring compliance, and optimising productivity to help achieve our ambitious business goals!This is a hybrid role meaning you’ll be based at our Head Office in Banbury, Oxfordshire 3 days a week on average, with the flexibility to work from home for the remainder of the week, this may flex up to full weeks or down dependant on business needs.BEHIND THE BRANDSWe’re a family-run, entrepreneurial company with an exciting pace of life and a bright and friendly team.   • Strategically merchandising all pages across the website to maximize engagement, conversion, and sales, working closely with the WebOps team to ensure all products are properly enabled and visible
  • Leveraging advanced analytics to interpret customer behaviour, product performance, and sell-through data, translating insights into actionable strategies that drive decision-making processes and optimize the customer journey
  • Leading on the management and maintenance of trend and edit categories to support key marketing campaigns, reflect seasonal trends, and enhance the overall shopping experience
  • Coordinating the classification and categorization of new product launches, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with branding guidelines
  • Developing and managing product recommendation strategies to enhance cross-selling opportunities, leveraging AI-driven tools where appropriate
  • Conducting regular audits and reviews of the site to ensure optimal product visibility, accurate classification, and data integrity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
  • Regularly conducting competitor analysis and market research to stay ahead of industry trends and best practices, proposing adjustments to merchandising strategies to maintain a competitive edge
  • Delivering comprehensive reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), user behaviour, and on-site customer journeys using tools like Google Analytics, Content Square, and other relevant platforms, providing actionable insights to support trading decisions
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to refine on-site search results, manage the search dictionary, and optimise taxonomy and product filters, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience
  • Taking ownership of continuous improvement initiatives, leading efforts to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and drive the overall success of digital merchandising strategies
  • Coaching and mentoring the Visual Merchandiser and Trading Assistant in VM best practice and commercial decision making
  • Managing critical path timelines and resources efficiently, ensuring projects are delivered on time and align with strategic goals
  • Actively collaborating with Product Design and Marketing teams to understand product USPs, campaigns and processes
  • Managing the visual merchandising activities within the Trading calendar, ensuring briefs are submitted on time and in line with deadlines provided by Digital Design
  • Managing front-end implementation, training and optimisation of the AI Merchandising platform, taking ownership of the platform to enhance the customer journey and drive significant uplifts in KPIs. Support your line manager with detailed reporting, and presenting findings and actionable suggestions, identifying areas for improvement to continually refine and optimise performance
  • Collaborating with key decision-makers to optimise on-site content and product imagery, ensuring that all areas of the website are utilising imagery in the most effective way to maximise engagement and conversion rates
  • Seasonally analysing taxonomy performance, presenting data and strategic recommendations to your line manager and SEO team to continuously drive and refine customer journeys
  • Any other ad hoc duties as reasonably requested by the Company

THE TALENT YOU’LL BRING

  • Proven experience in the eCommerce Merchandising industry, ideally within Fashion, Lifestyle, Jewellery or Gifting Sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive significant business impact by enhancing product visibility, optimizing online journeys, and maximizing conversion rates.
  • Advanced Analytical and Strategic Decision-Making Abilities. Exceptional skill in interpreting sales data, customer behaviour insights, and web analytics to develop and implement data-driven merchandising strategies that align with wider business objectives.
  • Strong organisational and project leadership, with a strong aptitude for overseeing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, from inception through to completion..
  • Exceptional Communication and Influencing Skills. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of collaborating and influencing effectively across eCommerce, marketing, design, development, and senior management teams to drive cohesive and high-performing initiatives
  • Proficiency in eCommerce Platforms and Analytical Tools. Expert-level understanding of eCommerce platforms (ideally Magento 2), content management systems (CMS), and analytical tools such as Google Analytics 4, Content Square, and other data-driven technologies to enhance the online customer experience and inform merchandising strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, contributing to a cohesive and productive work environment
  • Experience in using Magento would be beneficial
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure product listings are accurate, visually appealing, and optimised for search
