You will interact with a team of passionate cloud engineers who thrive on solving challenging technical problems and creating great products that delight customers.If this is the type of challenge that you’re passionate about, then we would like to talk to you!As a Staff Cloud Engineer at RBC, you will build and extend enterprise platforms in AWS, leveraging Terraform to support modern development techniques and hybrid architectures. You will deliver capabilities using Infrastructure as Code and GitOps, ensuring the performance, security and reliability of cloud platforms. Collaborate with a team of skilled engineers to drive RBC’s hybrid cloud strategy, promote automation best practices, and tackle challenging technical problems. Additionally, you will create educational materials for fellow engineers and continuously enhance your technical skills through hands-on application.What will you do?Build enterprise platforms in AWS for the greater bank to support modern development techniques and architecturesExtend our Terraform pipeline support for AWS by developing Terraform modulesLeverage containerization technologies such as Kubernetes to build multi-cloud, multitenant platformsDeliver capabilities using practices such as Infrastructure as Code (mostly Terraform) and GitOpsLearn from a great team of fellow engineers in building real-world cloud scale solutions across public and private cloudsWork closely with a team of like-minded platform engineers to build the cloud platforms as part of RBC’s hybrid cloud strategyEnsures the performance of cloud computing platforms and infrastructure to meet the requirements of complicated solutions.Promote automation and infrastructure best practicesFearlessly face challenging technical problems, use your superpowers to solve them, and help your peers by sharing your unique solutionsCreate awesome educational material for fellow engineers, like sample cloud native apps and starter codeContinuously learn new technical skills and practice by applying them in your day-to-day workCommunication skills necessary to work on a geographically distributed team.WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Must-have5+ years’ experience with software development preferably with Python or Go.Solid AWS experience in a high-performance and business-critical environment, especially foundational networking, IAM, DNS resiliency etc.A passion for making developers more efficient through DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as CodeSolid experience with Infrastructure Automation and Infrastructure as CodeKubernetes platformsGreat diagnostic and troubleshooting skillsNice-to-haveAnsible, Artifactory, GitHubWorking in a Scaled Agile Framework, Kanban, or Scrum development methodologySRERBC is committed to supporting flexible work arrangements when and where available.
