- The salary for this post is in line with Agenda for Change Band 7, which has a current salary range of £46,148 – £52,809.
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
- 30 days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays.

We’re working to improve the lives of the Children, Young People and their families in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that.Join our dynamic Public Health Nursing team as a Senior Safeguarding Advisor, where you will work closely with the Named Nurse, providing leadership and supervision. Key responsibilities include:
- Deputising for the Named Nurse when needed.
- Supporting the County Duty system alongside Team Managers and Practice Educators.
- Ensuring safeguarding outcomes for children and collaborating with key partners to address public health needs.
- Facilitating reflective learning environments and delivering training.
- Building professional relationships with agencies such as First Response, Lighthouse, and NHS safeguarding teams.
- Promoting the physical, mental, and emotional health and wellbeing of children and families (0-19 years).
- Contributing to multi-agency assessments and taking on a lead professional role where appropriate.
- Developing networks with key partners.
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. For this role, the following qualifications and experience are required:
- You must be an NMC registered Nurse or Midwife with a SCPHN qualification.
- Proven leadership experience.
- Experience in offering supervision.
- Good level of IT.
- A can-do attitude, solution focused and excellent communication skills to maximise networking abilities.
