We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.Work Schedule: Hybrid, flexible, with on-site presence up to 3 days per week and every 2nd Friday offClearance: Developed Vetting (DV) clearance required (paid for by AWE)We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Controls Manager to join our team in Reading, Berkshire. This role is essential in ensuring our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.Introducing the role:As a Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, cost management, and risk management of our projects. This role is not for Project Managers; we are specifically looking for professionals with a strong background in Project Controls.You will be line managing a team of Project Planners within Operations Management Office.Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets
  • Monitoring project progress and performance
  • Conducting cost analysis and risk assessments
  • Preparing and presenting project control reports
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure effective project control practices
  • Supporting the development and implementation of project control processes and tools

A Typical DayYour day might start with a review of project schedules and budgets, followed by a team meeting to review project progress and any potential issues. You could be analysing project data, updating schedules, and preparing cost reports. Your engagement skills will ensure effective collaboration with various departments, providing insights and recommendations to keep projects on track. You could be attending risk assessment sessions, ensuring that potential risks are identified and mitigated. Each day, you will have contributed to the successful management of our projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.We’d like you to have some of the following experience or qualifications:

  • Proven experience in project controls, including planning, scheduling, and cost management is key
  • Performance management and coaching skills
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Proficiency in project control software and tools

  • You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
