What is the opportunity?

We are hiring for a Wealth Business Engagement Senior Manager to join the Chief Administrative Office on a permanent basis.

The Wealth Business Engagement Senior Manager reports to and supports the Head of Business Engagement to ensure the effective implementation of functional, operational, and regulatory initiatives, with focus on ensuring processes are adopted across the business, working closely with the Process Architecture team, to support change initiatives and data challenges.

The CAO team works across all business lines of RBC BD, supporting the Front Office / Client Facing Teams (CFTs) through three principles; ‘Protect’, ‘Sustain’ and ‘Grow’. The ‘Protect’ agenda is responsible for implementing and embedding effective first line controls and processes within the Advice (investment management and financial planning) business to ensure good outcomes for clients ‘the first time’. The ‘Sustain’ principle ensures the team are the first point of contact for the CFT. We identify and triage issues affecting business productivity, efficiency, and overall performance. The purpose of ‘Grow’ is to identify process-related opportunities to create additional capacity for CFTs, enabling them to generate new business. This includes ensuring that high-quality data is available to run our business and meet our client’s needs effectively, delivering change projects to the front office, and training.

What will you do?

  • Represent the Head of Business Engagement, other CAO pillar heads or CAO in change projects/initiatives, data remediation, governance, business forums and focused working groups.
  • Work with colleagues throughout the business to ensure system and process changes are implemented with due consideration of the requirements of CFT.
  • Produce CFT support material for data remediation projects.
  • Lead communication and engagement channels with CFTs to provide transparency on change and data projects and provide direction where necessary.
  • Work with the Head of Regions, Regional Business Managers (RBMs), Office Managers/Engagement Leads, to support adoption of changes to systems and business processes within the branch network.
  • Work closely with the other CAO teams, partner with the business to resolve issues and improve productivity, efficiency, and overall performance.
  • Embed operational workflows and methodology in partnership with the Head of Regions, RBMs and Office Managers/Engagement Leads.
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with Heads of Regions, Regional Centre Heads, Intermediaries channel, RBMs and other functional leads (e.g. Compliance / AML, Change teams etc.)
  • Partner with the wider CAO team (Data office / Process Architecture, Client Controls and Business Engagement).
  • Supporting the CFTs by participating in change initiatives to ensure that the CFTs priorities and requirements are represented and change projects / initiatives are implemented smoothly.
  • Facilitating the implementation / adoption of other centrally driven projects and initiatives, feeding back constructive challenges from CTTs to central teams where appropriate.
  • Ensure that data quality standards are established and maintained / identify data quality issues with a resolution path / lessons learned being developed, triaged, and tracked.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Significant experience within the financial services sector, ideally within a wealth management environment.
  • Understanding of end-to-end business processes and technological impact on relevant areas.
  • Up to date knowledge of the regulatory environment and the challenges affecting Wealth Management.
  • Pragmatic, balanced and commercial with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong data skills, able to review & analyse high volumes of data quickly and efficiently. 
  • Able to direct and influence senior colleagues to drive effective decision-making and execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience communicating with a variety of stakeholders across the business.
