This role ensures the efficient allocation of labor, materials, and equipment while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and cost-control requirements. The Planner will utilize SAP Project System (PS), SAP S/4HANA, and other relevant tools to monitor progress, track materials, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.This position requires a highly organized professional with strong problem-solving skills, experience in project scheduling, and the ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage detailed schedules for mechanical and piping projects using SAP Project System (PS), SAP S/4HANA, or other project management tools.
  • Determine and coordinate the labor, material, and equipment requirements for project execution.
  • Identify and track critical milestones and deadlines to ensure on-time project completion.
  • Monitor project progress and regularly update schedules to reflect actual progress and upcoming tasks.
  • Utilize SAP for material requisition, tracking, and procurement to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Create and manage work orders in SAP, ensuring all tasks are properly documented, assigned, and tracked.
  • Track and manage project costs, using SAP’s cost-control features to ensure budget adherence.
  • Oversee material issuance and receipt, ensuring accurate record-keeping in SAP.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to confirm timely material deliveries and services.
  • Prepare status reports and updates on project progress, material needs, and potential risks.
  • Identify and address potential delays or issues, ensuring proactive resolution of material, resource, or technical challenges.
  • Use SAP data to quickly resolve discrepancies that could impact project timelines or costs.
  • Ensure that mechanical and piping work complies with safety standards, industry codes, and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of project schedules, changes, and records in SAP.
  • Drive quality assurance in mechanical and piping activities, ensuring adherence to project requirements.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve planning processes, leveraging SAP capabilities to enhance efficiency.
  • Document lessons learned and provide recommendations for improving future project planning.
  • Provide training and support to team members on SAP functionalities related to planning, scheduling, and procurement.
  • Troubleshoot SAP-related issues and collaborate with SAP support teams when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical and piping planning, preferably in an industrial or construction environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP Project System (PS), SAP S/4HANA, or similar project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and piping systems, including material selection, resource allocation, and cost control.
  • Experience in creating and managing work orders, material requisitions, and procurement tracking.
  • Ability to analyze project schedules, identify critical paths, and address potential delays proactively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly resolve discrepancies impacting timelines and costs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working alongside engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards, codes, and regulations related to mechanical and piping projects.
  • Experience in training team members on SAP usage and troubleshooting system-related issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and commitment to continuous improvement.
