  • day to day frontline functions of the MDRD, assists in performance management and implementing new initiatives.
  • Supports quality and patient safety.
  • Reports to the Manager, MDRD and is a part of the Reprocessing Program Leadership team.
  • The Assistant Manager ensures appropriate systems and resources are in place to support timely, and appropriate patient flow through surgical services
  • Works closely with the Educator to ensure on going education, competency checks and in servicing is up to date.
  • Works with OR-MDR Liaison to ensure MDRnet is up to date.

The Assistant Manager brings the following:

  • Certification in a Recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Program
  • National Certification through the CSA, member of MDRAO or CAMDR would be considered an asset.
  • Olympus CERT training is an asset.
  • Leadership courses in DEI, Communication and Conflict Resolution are preferred.
  • Any other healthcare related courses or certifications would be an asset
  • Experienced in a formal leadership role in Medical Device Reprocessing (3 years minimum)
  • Experience in performance management of staff
  • Working understanding of a MDRD
  • Comfort in interpreting Standards for implementation through policies and best practice
  • Experience in providing coaching and feedback to team members
  • Ability to partner with other departments in a professional manner to provide quality results for all involved
