Reach out directly to apply TODAY to Grace Williams atSummaryA Lab Assistant will be working in a high volume production lab-based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science. This position requires handling biological specimens, data entry, and ensuring all lab equipment is functioning properly.Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or enter specimen and patient information into the system.
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot any specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards for the Microbiology Lab.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortability with handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills.
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous medical/lab or production experience is preferred.

Work EnvironmentThis role is situated in a high volume, fast-paced lab production environment. The position requires handling biological specimens and involves extended periods of sitting or standing. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 – $18.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
