DESCRIPTIONPlease note: this is a 12 months fixed term contract.Amazon is looking for a senior product manager with proven experience in stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and detailed execution within our EU After Market Services team who will execute towards our ‘Zero Waste’ vision in close collaboration with teams across the EU Amazon Fulfilment Network and internationally.We aspire to zero: zero waste, zero cost of returns, and zero defects. We are currently looking for a highly committed, entrepreneurial Senior Product Manager to drive our efforts in Product Donations and Inventory Disposal Avoidance.He/she will partner with a large number of stakeholders, such as Worldwide tech teams, EU Operations, EU FBA, Retail Impact & Category teams, Legal, Compliance, and Charities themselves, to drive scalable and innovative solutions to minimize waste, increase efficiencies, and maximize the impact of our donations.The ideal candidate will leverage their ability to deliver results under ambiguity and to drive programs with cross-functional teams. He/she will have a sound business acumen, strong analytical skills and an ability to roll up their sleeves to deliver results while continuing to innovate. He/she will demonstrate a passion for the customer, for continuous improvement of business processes, and most importantly for making an impact on the environment.Finally, a successful candidate must be able to work across multiple internal teams, leverage existing Amazon resources, and influence even without direct authority. The role is highly visible, and it will require someone who is motivated to make a big impact.This role may be based in Paris, Luxembourg, Milan, Madrid, London, or Munich.Key job responsibilities

  • Drive EU Retail’s zero waste efforts, focusing on eliminating avoidable inventory disposal across the EU Amazon fulfilment network and Retail business (feeding into the VP-level goal).
  • Build and drive a roadmap focused around upcoming regulatory requirements in the area of product waste, with an emphasis on building clear reporting, influencing partner teams, and making tangible changes.
  • Develop and scale Automated Donations for Retail, enabling efficient donation of lower recovery inventory to charitable organizations across all locations.
  • Setup mechanisms to ensure product types and other configurations are set up correctly in our warehouses to maximize donation opportunities.
  • Focus on the charity experience, gathering feedback, and adapting processes to send desired items for donations, while implementing tracking mechanisms for charity rejections.
  • Partner extensively with teams across Amazon to maximize the company’s overall impact through donations on community impact and zero waste goals.
  • Think innovatively about ways to enable customers to be more sustainable, beyond just internal inventory management.

This role may be based in London, Luxembourg, Madrid, Munich, Paris, or Milan.We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in either Recommerce or Reverse Logistics businesses, working with charities, or sustainability initiatives.Valuable backgrounds include those who have worked on optimizing goods flow and operational efficiency, especially in product management roles focused on improving internal systems for both internal and external stakeholderKey job responsibilities

  • Review and diagnose the health of EU unsellable inventory backlogs across all FCs, identify root causes, and partner to address defects and secure long-term inventory health.
  • Drive initiatives with tech, supply chain, and compliance stakeholders to reduce defects leading to ‘stuck’ inventory and improve unsellable inventory outcomes across EU.
  • Identify gaps contributing to stranded unsellable inventory and launch initiatives to reduce causes, lower associated costs, and reduce sustainability impacts.
  • Oversee processing of unsellable inventory and management of compliance-suppressed stock in Europe through cross-team collaboration and automation for maximum recovery and sustainability.
  • Work closely with Operations to manage the inflow of unsellable inventory, avoid backlog build up, and optimize economic outcomes through timely processing.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– Experience with end to end product delivery
– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
– Experience as a product manager or owner
– Experience owning technology products
– Experience with product cycles of 6+ months
– Experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
– Knowledge of accessing and analysing large amounts of data through queries (e.g., SQL, etc.) and/or building dashboards.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS– Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
