Job description

HGV Class 2 Driver (Cat C) – Waste & RecyclingDriver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting Class 2 / HGV 2 (Cat C) drivers for a well-established waste and recycling company in East Lothian.📍 Location: East Lothian
💰 Pay (PAYE with holiday accrual):

• £13.50 per hour (basic)
• £17.99 per hour (overtime)

Job Details:

• Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, with start times between 05:00 – 06:00.
• Key Responsibilities:

• Collecting waste from various premises in the city centre.
• Working as part of a double-manned team alongside a driver’s mate.
• Operating a weighbridge and conducting daily vehicle checks.
• Contract Type: 12-week temp-to-perm – initial placement through Driver Hire, with the potential for a permanent role.

Requirements:

• Valid Cat C (HGV2) licence
• Valid CPC & Digital Tachograph cards
• No more than 6 penalty points (No DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements due to insurance restrictions)
• Previous experience in a similar role is required
