Job Description

We’re currently looking to hire a Middle and Back Office Oversight Manager to join L&G Asset Management Middle Office Oversight Function.

The primary function of the Middle Office Oversight Function is to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of middle office activities (retained and outsourced) to the Investment Teams across L&G Asset Management Globally. This is a critical function which is fast paced dealing with all aspects of Middle Office delivery, providing an efficient, flexible, transparent, and accurate service

What you’ll be doing:

  • Partner with Middle Office Oversight Manager to restructure the Middle Office Oversight Governance Framework
  • Being accountable for the Middle Office Oversight activities (incl. Asset Services, Trade Services, Derivative Operations globally) as part of retained and or outsourced services globally in line with market, regulatory and internal deadlines.
  • Governance for the Middle Office Oversight activities and its service suppliers to provide a robust and highly successful operational service to the Investment Teams that remains aligned to the strategic goals of LGIM globally and meet the client expected outcomes.
  • Partnering with outsource provide to develop a strong oversight Governance framework, including issues tracking, KRI analysis ensuring the highest level of service is being delivered.
  • Taking the lead in all matters with regards to the management of employees, making sure management discretion is used in a consistent manner, and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximize business performance
  • Reviewing, planning, developing strategy and processes for the Middle Office Function organisational design and resource, applying process and tools to create a fit for purpose global strategy to support the business. Assess both solutions to drive through operational efficiencies and plan their execution as appropriate
  • Inspires and effectively performance manages the function to ensure delivery of service targets and business plans; successfully build necessary coalitions across LGIM Teams and Outsource Provider and the organisation to effect change, as well as promoting overall respect for diversity, teamwork, and open communication in the workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory obligations and facilitate all AAF/Audit/FCF and Control reviews ensuring we are meeting all required standards.
  • Functional Mapping and independent control assessments of Oversight tasks supported.
  • Coordinate and produce all Management MI/Data packs including monthly management scorecard

Qualifications

Who we’re looking for:

  • Extensive knowledge in the outsourced service area covering operational service delivery knowledge and client expectations
  • Demonstrated experience of the asset management industry/experience relevant to role.
  • Industry awareness of the outsourced service area and regulations governing it.
  • Experience in managing and overseeing 3rd party relationship service delivery.
  • Strong influencing skills in managing relationship / client service engagement.
  • Proven experience in managing operational service matters, awareness of LGIM risk and control framework.
  • Customer oriented skills to understand service recipient needs and expectations.
  • Experience of managing multiple initiatives/projects within a complex professional environment and delivering demonstrable business benefits.
  • Lead from the front to drive delivery, whilst sustaining the provision of analytical rigor without getting overly caught up in the detail
