An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Admin Assistant based at Royal Stoke Hospital, Nephrology Department.This is an ideal post for someone looking to join the NHS and work within an experienced secretarial team in a hospital environment.The post holder will need to demonstrate good communication skills, flexibility, reliability and have an organised approach to their work.The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to enable them to support the patient pathway.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be required to assist in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service to support medical and nursing staff within the Renal department. The post holder will undertake audio typing/word processing, minute taking, maintaining and updating an excel database, along with distributing, filing and scanning of documents, and processing the incoming and ongoing post. The post holder will be required to answer telephone enquiries, process e-referrals and book 24 hour blood pressure monitor appointments. The post holder will cover with the workload of other members of the administration team as required.All aspects of the work must be carried out in accordance with the Trust policies and procedures in respect of maintaining patient confidentiality.The post holder will also be responsible for communicating information, both written and verbal with patients, staff and carers, and this will require tact and diplomacy. Some of the patients and carers that we have contact with are distress or anxious, and it is expected that the pots holder will handle telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement to assess each situation and to deal with it accordingly.About usUniversity Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country.
