We are 18,000 projects and counting – improving lives and helping shape the growth of sustainable, progressive and inclusive communities.Your roleJoin our team as an Assistant Project Manager with our Toronto Business Unit!We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager who is seeking the right opportunity to level their skills in the municipal and developmental infrastructure services sector of our Toronto business unit.You bring previous experience in leading projects varying in scope and complexity in the delivery of municipal and private development infrastructure projects, including marine infrastructure, vessels, electrical and charging equipment, utilities, earthworks related scopes. You’ve become known as a trusted advisor to your clients and have built strong, lasting relationships with senior leaders and decision makers.Responsibilities:Leadership
- Demonstrate company values and cultural behaviours

- Progressively develop delegation skills
- Progress on leading project deliverables
- Serve as an orientation buddy for new APMs
Growth
- Learn about all of our service lines
- Learn keys to client relationship building
Management
- Provide support to PMs in monitoring project financial health
Quality
- Deliver work in accordance with QMS
- Develop expertise in deliverables
- On-site organization of contractors & consultants
Qualifications:
- A university degree or diploma in civil engineering (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
- 1-3 years of project management experience, representing owners in the delivery of marine infrastructure, vessels, electrical and charging equipment, utilities, earthworks and related projects
- Familiarity with the design process, value engineering, and approvals necessary to proceed with construction and close out/handover, and commissioning processes in a municipal setting
- Strong understanding of best practice Project Management methodologies and procedures within a PMO environment
- Effective client and stakeholder management matched with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client and technical issues.
- Detail oriented leader with the ability to work in a process driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
- PMP designation is an asset
