The role holder will work with the senior RC GB&CMB stakeholders in MENAT as their team extension, reporting functionally to the in-country team with entity management handled locally in Krakow. The AVP will support the team with several key deliverables as outlined below.The role holder will be responsible for pro-active Regulatory Compliance (RC) support and challenge on all relevant aspects of Global Banking (GB) and Commercial Banking (CMB) to ensure that the business is conducted in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and codes of practice. The primary responsibilities of the incumbent cover the management of RC risks across GB & CMB lines of business in the UAE, and the MENAT Region, alongside providing extended support to Product Lines (e.g. Global Payment Solutions (GPS), and Global Trade Solutions (GTS)). The role holder will be responsible for the provision of advice to Business Lines and Assurance teams on RC matters and assist and train GB/CMB on relevant regulations and compliance policies. The role requires strong partnership with the business, a solid understanding of GB/CMB and relevant products (GPS/GTS) and has the responsibility for driving the implementation of policies and regulations, ensuring that a conduct and compliance-led culture is embedded. The individual must remain up to date on changes in the regulatory environment, industry developments and market events in relation to the businesses. The role holder shall also provide direct support to the relevant GB, CMB, and GPS/GTS RC Lead/s, alongside the Regional Head of GB/CMB RC, MENAT, as requiredWhat you’ll do:

• Manage Regulatory and Reputational Risk by providing appropriate Regulatory Compliance coverage and expertise.
• Provide guidance for the Product Governance process across GB/CMB, and GPS/GTS products and propositions.
• Represent Regional & UAE RC in key governance forums as needed.
• Assist with Group/Regulatory Reporting and ad-hoc projects.
• Provide clear, concise, consistent, constructive and customer conscious advice and strategic guidance to GB/CMB on RC matters.
• Supervise and monitor accurate completion of Compliance Risk Assessments.
• Oversee FIM/procedural implementation where compliance is a risk.
• Be accountable for working with Global Compliance stakeholders on Extra-territorial Regulations and Global Compliance programs.

What you need to have to succeed in this role:

• Understanding of GB/CMB, GPS and/or GTS including ESG related products.
• Business or Compliance experience strongly preferred.
• Proven analytical skills, together with the ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.
• Proven ability to clearly articulate business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings.
• An understanding of the potential impact of regional and foreign regulatory developments impacting GB/CMB activity.
• Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent command of written and oral English skills.
