The Role:

Located in London, the Head of Global Product Marketing and EMEA Campaign Marketing will spearhead the development and execution of our global product marketing strategy while overseeing EMEA campaign marketing initiatives. You will lead a team of dedicated product and campaign marketers, promoting a culture of inclusivity, collaboration and high performance. Beyond team leadership, your role involves conducting market research, defining product positioning, and crafting go-to-market strategies that align with our business goals. You will be expected to demonstrate advanced understanding of market trends and maintain a strategic vision that aligns with enterprise goals, influencing stakeholder buy-in across departments. You will work closely with Heads of EMEA Sales, Market Outreach, Global Product Innovation and Management, as well as the regional Events Lead and the broader Marketing Leadership Team.

The Career Opportunity:

Reporting to the Global Head of Marketing and being part of the Marketing Leadership Team, you will have the chance to influence revenue directly and engage with the broader Commercial Senior Leadership Team. This role will require you to leverage your broad extensive knowledge of theories and practices within marketing and its interrelationship with other areas to drive strategic initiatives. Growth opportunities include partnering cross-functionally on key strategic projects and presenting your insights to senior leadership and other divisions as appropriate.

You will gain exposure to various aspects of the business, as well as influential investors and financial market stakeholders, enhancing your understanding of the dynamic and evolving credit markets.

The Team/Business:

Our Marketing team is a professional and well-regarded group within S&P Global Ratings. The culture is inclusive and flexible, with high expectations for performance and accountability. The team boasts a wealth of experience in Product, Campaign, Digital, and Events Marketing, offering a rich resource base for learning and contribution. Your colleagues in Sales, Product, Market Outreach, Communications, Analytical, and Research & Development teams possess deep expertise in the capital and credit markets, focusing on private markets, emerging markets, sustainable finance, and decentralized finance.

You will also collaborate with product marketing leaders from other S&P Global divisions to align, share best practices, and collaborate. As members of the Product Marketing Alliance, our product marketing team engages with external peers to stay ahead of industry best practices.

Once fully briefed on accountabilities and expectations, you will enjoy a high degree of independence with ongoing support from the Global Head of Marketing.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Lead the development and execution of the global product marketing strategy, setting a clear and inspiring vision aligned to enterprise strategy.

  • Manage a team of global product and EMEA campaign marketers, fostering inclusivity and driving high performance.

  • Evolve our existing product launch process by leveraging your advanced knowledge in specialized fields to ensure it remains market-leading.

  • Partner with Product Management to conduct in-depth market research, identifying trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.

  • Define clear product positioning and develop robust go-to-market strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of EMEA Sales, Heads of Product Innovation and Management, and the regional Head of Marketing to ensure cohesive messaging and execution.

  • Build strong relationships across departments and regions, influencing stakeholders internally and externally to support key initiatives.

  • Craft compelling product narratives and marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences.

  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies and team performance using data-driven insights, refining marketing approaches based on performance metrics to demonstrate impact on revenue generation.

  • Empower your team to innovate and execute marketing initiatives that enhance market presence.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • An S&P Global Employee at this level would typically have 15+ years of experience in product marketing, campaign marketing, or related roles, preferably within the financial services or credit markets.

  • Proven track record of leading marketing teams and executing successful go-to-market strategies.

  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of EMEA market dynamics, customer segments, and competitive landscape in the financial services sector.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic marketing plans that align with business objectives and drive revenue growth.

  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in market research, data analysis, and performance metrics to inform decision-making and optimize marketing strategies.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and presentations for diverse audiences.

  • Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

  • Project Management: Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively across departments, including sales, product development, and senior leadership.

  • Digital Marketing Proficiency: Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms, as well as experience leveraging digital channels for product promotion.
