Job DescriptionCertified Medical Assistant is responsible for patient care, working with other clinical staff, performing clinical procedures and maintaining electronic health records. CMA will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our physician practice in the specialty of women’s care.We’re looking for a Certified Medical Assistant with a MINIMUM of 1 year experience and successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program in addition to the requirements below:Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program (e.g., AAMA, NHA)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in the following practice category specific tasks: clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting lab specimens, assisting with procedures, and administering medications; and administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and handling patient interactions
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.

Responsibilities:? Clinical Duties:

  • Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, and documenting patient information.
  • Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
  • Administer injections and perform phlebotomy as directed by the physician.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests and process specimens.
  • Sterilize and maintain medical instruments and equipment.
  • Provide patient education and instructions.
  • Prepare examination rooms.

? Administrative Duties:

  • Greet and register patients, verifying insurance information.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Process prescription refills and manage medication requests.
  • Handle medical billing and coding tasks as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies.

? Other Duties:

  • Adhere to all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-time, full benefits
  • This is a direct hire position as an employee of the Company (NOT a temporary job)
  • Daylight shift Monday through Friday (must be available to occasionally work a later schedule 10:30 am – 7:00 pm)
  • May require local travel occasionally to other local offices to support staffing needs, as needed.
  • Salary for new hires: up to $22.00 per hour, to start
  • Promotional growth through dedicated career ladders is expected
  • Based on performance, employees can earn additional pay up to $26.50 per hour (pay raises are based on work performance, career development, and occur incrementally, over time).
