About us:The Bread Factory is London’s leading Artisan Bakery, known for award-winning breads, pastries, and cakes, supplying top-quality products across e-commerce, grocery, food services, and retailers such as our GAIL’s Bakeries nationwide.As our teams grow, we seek our next Sous Chef to join our team.Every day is different at The Bread Factory, but here are some of the things you will be doing:· Ensure a Safe Working Environment – Proactively maintain a safe and compliant workplace in the Central Kitchen, ensuring all areas meet company standards.· Stock Control & Ordering – Maintain a strong understanding of the ordering system and stock management, ensuring efficiency and minimal waste.· Team Leadership & Staff Management – Oversee staff rostering, absence management, and disciplinary procedures, ensuring fair and effective people management.· Recruitment & Employee Relations – Support the hiring process, ensuring team members are managed in line with company policies while fostering a positive work culture.· Training & Development – Lead and develop team members, providing coaching and growth opportunities to enhance skills and encourage continuous improvement.· Effective Communication – Promote clear communication across departments, ensuring collaboration and transparency within the team.· Culture & Change Management – Foster a culture of innovation, openness, and constructive feedback, supporting and implementing change in alignment with company values.· Resource Planning & Efficiency – Plan, organize, and optimize labour and raw materials to meet both short- and long-term production targets.· Continuous Improvement – Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team performance and business efficiency.· Food Safety & Quality Standards – Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality control measures, meeting both company and customer expectations while maintaining audit requirements.Our team tells us you will be a great addition if you have experience in:
