Make a real impact on the Department of Veterans Affairs-End User Operations and Monitoring (ESOM)! We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior SharePoint Developer to join our team in supporting the VA ESOM Business Operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and supporting SharePoint solutions, including expertise in JSON, Java, and Power BI. The candidate should also have prior experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and PowerShell. This role involves designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining SharePoint-based applications and solutions to meet business needs. This role will also be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative SharePoint solutions and content repositories that support knowledge management, enhance collaboration, and drive efficiency within the department. You will play a key role in modernizing our SharePoint environment, migrating existing sites to newer versions, and developing custom workflows and applications to meet the unique needs of our users.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain SharePoint solutions, including custom applications and workflows.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Utilize JSON, Java, and Power BI to enhance SharePoint functionality and create interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Develop and implement solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and PowerShell
  • Enable interoperability and sharing of information with other agency components.
  • Perform regular assessments to ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, and regulations.
  • Investigate, promote, and implement methods to improve knowledge availability, reliability, and performance through best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and optimization for SharePoint environments.
  • Provide technical guidance to end-users and team members, where applicable, relating to permissions, site ownership, document management, forms, and workflows, etc.

Location: This position can be performed remotely and will support Eastern Time working hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education).
  • 8+ years of SharePoint experience, covering analysis, design, development, and deployment support. Expertise in repository requirements, auditing, reliability, and performance enhancements. Skilled in capacity planning, high availability solutions, and providing support for implementation, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Over 5 years of expert-level Business Analysis skills, specializing in solution concepts. Proficient in analyzing business needs, developing effective solutions, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Proficient in customizing and enhancing SharePoint web parts to align with specific business requirements and improve the overall user experience. Skilled in leveraging technology to integrate dynamic content, interactive elements, and personalized features.
  • Experienced in implementing PowerShell, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, jQuery, and API services to enhance usability and performance. Knowledge of Python and DAX is helpful.
  • Skilled in providing end-user support functions. Experienced in tracking issues, schedules, and performance progress. Capable of identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the creation of reports and visualizations to support analysis, reporting, and briefings.
