This position has been created with this objective in mind: to drive innovation and enhance the organization’s digital agility.Job DescriptionMissionThe Director of Innovation Acceleration and AI plays a strategic role in driving Radio-Canada’s digital transformation. They lead high-impact initiatives leveraging artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and evolving digital trends. By balancing exploration and execution, they contribute to the organization’s evolution and help foster an innovation-driven culture. Their impact extends to user experience formats, content production processes, and operational methods, ensuring the company remains adaptable in a rapidly changing industryKey Responsibilities:Developing the Digital Innovation Strategy and Portfolio

  • Define and implement an innovation strategy aligned with Radio-Canada’s objectives, integrating foresight, innovation culture, and applied innovation.
  • Identify and prioritize high-potential innovation initiatives.
  • Manage a portfolio of innovation projects, ensuring a balance between short-term initiatives and long-term strategic bets.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of innovation efforts.
  • Communicate results to executives to demonstrate added value and highlight key challenges.

Implementing Innovation Processes and Programs

  • Structure and facilitate approaches that drive innovation within Content/Product teams (idea management, rapid prototyping, experimentation, acceleration programs, open innovation, etc.).
  • Foster a culture of experimentation that encourages rapid iteration and continuous learning.

Exploring and Integrating AI and Emerging Technologies

  • Design and lead AI-driven solutions to enhance content formats and optimize content creation and production processes.
  • Collaborate across departments to integrate AI and emerging technologies ethically and transparently.
  • Promote AI adoption at all levels of the organization, leveraging insights gained through experimentation.

Internal and External Communication and Collaboration

  • Foster collaboration between internal teams, external partners, and industry experts to support open innovation.
  • Lead workshops to enhance innovation skills and facilitate change management.
  • Regularly share lessons learned from projects (successes, challenges, key insights) across the company.
  • Maintain an active watch on AI and innovation trends and encourage knowledge sharing.

Leadership and Influence

  • Participate in and/or lead cross-sector governance committees within the organization.
  • Position Radio-Canada as a leader in responsible AI use at the national and international levels.
  • Represent the company at forums and events dedicated to innovation and AI.
  • Communicate AI advancements to the public and engage in discussions to better understand and meet audience needs.

Desired Profile:Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in innovation or digital transformation within a large organization.
  • Proven experience integrating AI and emerging technologies into business processes.
  • Experience in journalism, content production, or editorial leadership, with prior team management responsibilities.

Skills

  • Expertise in innovation management methods and processes.
  • Strong understanding of technological trends and the ethical considerations of AI.
  • Experience in change management and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent command of both French and English, written and spoken.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate uncertainty and take calculated risks.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and align teams around ambitious goals.
