This position will be dedicated to a specific process in the facility and will be the Subject the Matter Expert of this process. The Maintenance Mechanic A provides guidance/ training to lower class mechanics. Schedule may vary due to business needs but is typically 6am- 3pm, 5-6 days a week. ** We are currently offering a $10,000 Hiring Bonus payable in installments over your first 12 months of employment. Terms and Conditions apply. **Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities1. Perform regular adjustments, calibrations, and repairs from departmental demands both during production and non-production hours.2. Responds to emergency breakdowns and needs in a timely manner within OSHA lockout/tagout and Perdue safety requirements.3. Hold operational knowledge of assigned plant area as well as position class knowledge. Will be the subject matter expert on assigned equipment.4. Respond to processing manager’s needs and requests on an as needed basis or through work assignments as assigned by the Plant Manager.5. Read and interpret Equipment blueprints, schematic, and operators’ manuals for troubleshooting purposes.6. Communicate with the planning department for all recommended repairs, and or parts that would need to be ordered.Minimum EducationHigh School or equivalent but Vocational/technical school in areas of maintenance is preferredExperience RequirementsReading, writing, and math skills required and 3-4 years of prior related experience within the past 10 yearsExperience PreferredCertifications or extensive experience with PLC, welding, or industrial manufacturing equipmentEnvironmental Factors and Physical Requirements1. Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. 2. May need to move equipment occasionally. 3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 4. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. .5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
