DESCRIPTION

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

This is an opportunity to become a Regional Account Manager in the team working with the worlds’ largest FSIs. Do you have the business acumen and technical understanding to earn trust and sell to Banking and Insurance customers, by aligning on AWS services and capabilities to best support their business strategies?

Key job responsibilities

The blend of sales and technical skills this role requires will enable engagement at the C-Suite level, as well as with software developers and architects. Analytical thinking and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, often complex environments will be vital to enhance the ability to support our FSI customers build on AWS in new ways, and help them deliver business value from the cloud.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work with customers to accelerate their business outcomes, and recommend AWS products and services in line with business needs.
  • Drive solution discussions with your customers, diving deep into the details to solve complex challenges.
  • Work backwards from your customers’ business needs to accelerate adoption of the most appropriate AWS services.
  • As a trusted advisor, use your interpersonal skills to influence a variety of stakeholders from technical teams to executives, and help ensure short-term technology decisions are aligned with long-term goals.
  • Help define the strategy by engaging and partnering with customer-facing AWS teams (Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, AWS professional services consultants and consulting/managed services partners).
  • Act as a thought leader in the wider community, playing a key role in educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events.

A day in the life

As an Regional Account Manager you will work with the most complex FSI customers, taking a leading role in developing their long-term strategy with AWS in the business units you are responsible for. Combining an informed view of the FSI market with a deep understanding of emerging technology trends, you sell AWS services that deliver customer value.

About the team

The Global Financial Services team focuses on the largest FSI customers that typically operate across multiple continents and regulatory jurisdictions. The customers are managed on a global basis, you will be responsible for Regional Operating Entities of FSIs or a line-of-business, as part of a cross-functional team dedicated to each customer.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in direct sales of technology, software or cloud to C-level executives, technical stakeholders and line-of-business users in FSI.
  • Experience working with partners to achieve customer outcomes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to develop and execute complex account plans.
