As a key member of the Financial Reporting team you will be involved in the production of the Society’s FINREP reporting to the PRA and you’ll help to identify and implement improvements/efficiencies in the reporting process.This role will suit someone with strong problem solving and analytical skills with knowledge of accounting and financial reporting activities. You’ll be organised, inquisitive and have an appetite to challenge and improve existing processes.At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. A key focus is ensuring accurate and reliable reporting, helping to maintain our strong relationship with the Regulators.You’ll support the Finance Manager and the Head of External Financial Reporting, taking a primary responsibility for producing the reports, understanding reported information, maintaining quality assurance and control.What’s more, by driving the implementation of efficiencies and improvements within FINREP, you’ll play an important part in the ongoing financial success of the Finance & Efficiency Community and help towards the achievement of Nationwide’s strategic goals.As a role model within the team, you’ll need to deliver to tight regulatory deadlines, whilst following internal controls frameworks and performing quality reviews.About youAs a minimum requirement, you’ll:

  • Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). We may consider a part-qualified finalist with a consistent record of first time passes
  • Have experience of statutory reporting
  • Have strong numerical, analytical and written/verbal communication skills
  • Have strong Excel skills- particularly with formulae e.g. vlookup, sumproduct, sumif and ability to work with a large volume of data
  • Demonstrate an appetite to make improvements
