Job Title : Accounting Analyst – Receivables
Salary: £26,000 to £32,000 (depending on experience)
Location : Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Benefits:
25 days annual leave,
Up to 9% Bonus
Contributory pension scheme – Caterpillar will double the employee’s contribution up to 10%
Contributory share scheme – Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee’s contribution.

About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Opportunity:
This is a great opportunity to join the Global Financial Services team, where you will have the unique opportunity and exposure to work closely with both our end customers, and our significant global matrix teams, supporting the Industrial Power Solutions division. You’ll assume full responsibility and management of a portfolio of key customers with the purpose of maximising the debtor cash collection performance and reduce overdue debt, whilst minimising any risk of late payment and bad debt. This role works closely with their peers and cross-functional departments, offering continuous support and advise on our receivable’s status. Experience in a credit control environment is essential, alongside the ability to navigate complex customer interactions with confidence, tenacity, and professionalism.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Debt Collection & Resolution:
• Adhere to dunning process to ensure customers pay to agreed terms, taking appropriate action to mitigate financial risk to the organisation.
• Negotiate payment plans with customers where applicable, ensuring collection deadlines are met.
• Provide weekly updates to the Credit Manager and Sales Team, on customer interaction and debt recovery progress.
• Support/lead customer and sales team aged debt reviews.
• Evaluate customers regularly for risk of bad debt and report findings to the Credit Manager.
Month end responsibilities:
• Action month end tasks, ensuring key deadlines are met and corporate reporting is completed.
• Preparation of monthly reconciliations to tight deadlines.
• Assist in the preparation of cyclical reports (typically weekly, monthly, quarterly)
Ad-Hoc Duties:
• Effectively executing the Caterpillar internal accounting practices and procedures in
accordance with our credit policy and corporate guidelines
• Support the external audit process and internal SOX compliance reviews
• Contribute towards process improvements, utilising data analytics to empower our customers and deliver new initiatives
Skills and Experience:
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Accuracy and Attention to Detail:
• Prior job-related experience having worked within a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial global environment
• Experience in a high value/transaction role using multiple currencies with excellent accuracy and attention to detail
Financial and Accounting Systems:
• Fluent in Microsoft Excel to a high level, working knowledge of Power BI is preferable.
• Preferably with experience of Sarbanes-Oxley and/or other financial reporting governance controls
• Good knowledge of accounting, financial accounting, and strong analytical skills
Communication:
• Must be able to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external customers at various levels, and express themselves clearly
• Ability to achieve World Class overdue results
