Description:An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Addiction Nurse to join Addiction Services on a permanent basis.Addiction Services provide specialist treatment for people with drug and/or alcohol problems across Fife and are delivered from three main localities Whytemans Brae Hospital, Cameron Hospital and Lynebank Hospital providing treatment to the Fife-wide population Central Fife (population of 147,370); North East Fife (population of 74,180); and, West Fife (population of 126,840).As an Addiction Nurse, you will work as part of a multi-professional team and be responsible for the assessment of care needs, providing high quality care to clients with drug and /or drug related issues.You will be a First Level Registered Nurse with experience of working directly or indirectly with individuals who have drug and / or alcohol issues. You will have good communication skills, possess the ability to manage your time effectively and have the ability to reflect on personal practice.You will be expected to work Monday to Friday but with occasional flexibility expected in line with service needs.For an informal discussion relating to any aspects of the post please contact Wilma Burt on 01592 716446 or e-mail wilma.burt@nhs.scotNHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
