Flexible Location: Based throughout Scotland, NES is a remote friendly employer supporting office and hybrid working. Regular presence at our Dundee office (Dundee Dental Education Centre (DDEC)) is a requirement of this role. We’re happy to talk about how you want to work.Work Pattern: Fixed term, Part time, 18.5 hours per week (18 hours and 30 minutes). The post holder will be required to work:

  • Wednesday afternoon
  • Thursday morning and afternoon
  • Friday morning and afternoon

Fixed term or Secondment** for 18 months from date of appointment**For NHS applicants, an NHS secondment will be offered in the first instance. For non-NHS applicants, a fixed-term or secondment would be considered.You must have eligibility and entitlement to work in the UK which is required to be maintained throughout your period of employment.Who We AreNHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.The Medical Directorate is responsible to the NES Board and through the Board to Scottish Government for the commissioning and delivery of postgraduate medical education in Scotland. The role of the Directorate is to oversee training, manage the trainee’s progress through the training programme and ensure the training is delivered to GMC standards.The Trainer Development Collaborative (TDC) is a small, enthusiastic team working within the Professional Development workstream in the Medical Directorate of NES. The TDC team work in partnership with a broad clinical faculty based in the Territorial Health Boards across Scotland to develop and deliver training and education resources predominately for postgraduate medical trainers, but also leadership and management training and training for Approved Medical Practitioners.The OpportunityWe are looking for an enthusiastic and initiative-taking individual to join our small, highly talented team to help us organise important training events for doctors across the NHS.   • Experience of working collaboratively and flexibly within a team, and across other workstreams and departments
  • High diligence in all aspects of your work
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and confidently at all levels (both verbally and in writing)
  • Proven history using Microsoft packages (MS Teams, MS Outlook, and MS Excel) and confidence in learning and using other specialist software (e.g., online booking systems, digital learning platforms and travel/accommodation systems)
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care, and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact, and persuasion skills when necessary
  • Ability to work on own initiative, to effectively organise and prioritise own workloads and to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience of using Microsoft Teams in a virtual office environment
  • Experience of supporting the planning and organisation of events such as meetings, training events and conferences
  • Experience of contributing to the development of processes within a team
