Application Delivery EngineerHowdens Joinery are looking for an Application Delivery Engineer to be based from our offices in Northamptonshire, Watford or Howden, Yorkshire with some home working.We are undergoing an exciting period of digital transformation and growth, this role offers a customer focused professional an excellent opportunity to be an integral part of helping us support our new website and internal systems.What you will be doing as an Application Delivery Engineer:

  • Ensure the smooth operation and continuation of service of our core trade and digital applications
  • Ensuring any application issues are resolved as efficiently as possible.

What will I be doing as an Application Delivery Engineer?

  • You will need to be service focussed, with the desire to deliver first class service to our colleagues and be dedicated to improving our processes through automation, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Your key tasks will be responding to production incidents, driving recovery and mitigation, and ensuring agreed levels of support are maintained and delivered to the Howden user community
  • You will also, where possible, address small change requests that can be completed within a short amount of time.
  • Part of your role will also involve you taking an active part in the Howdens ways of Working, providing regular updates on work during daily stand ups.

What do I need to qualify for this Application Delivery Engineer role?

  • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of working in a software development environment.
  • Skills or Knowledge of ASP.NET, JavaScript, Typescript, Angular, React, C#
  • Knowledge of web design and web development.
  • Good understanding of database design, programming (SQL) and query optimization.
  • Experience with supporting .NET content management systems such as Sitecore.
  • Experience of configuring, managing and monitoring Azure cloud services
  • Awareness of Source control: Azure DevOps / Git.
  • Experience in at least one scripting language such as PowerShell, Python and JavaScript.
  • Experience of application performance monitoring tools and supporting deployed systems, through the use of tools such as AppDynamics.
  • Experience in the Retail/Trade Sector an advantage.
