This role will be responsible for assessing the security posture of both third party and internally developed applications.  The applicant will need to be able to use a combination of manual application review techniques as well as various security scanning tools to enumerate vulnerabilities to decide whether the application can be approved for use.  This person will need to be able to provide clear instructions to developers on how to remediate findings.

As part of the application security team within Collins, you will be a part of developing the strategy and direction of the team and will assist in optimizing our service offerings.   Additionally, you will be building a strong relationship with developers across our different development teams and working to understand where they need additional security expertise, consulting, and support. 

** This is a remote position in Puerto Rico, must be in Puerto Rico. **

What YOU will do:

  • Must have a strong knowledge of remediation techniques to provide guidance on how to resolve vulnerability findings. 

  • Familiarity with identifying and mitigating application vulnerabilities publicized by OWASP, WASC, CWE and other like organizations, consortiums, and projects, using both manual techniques and automated tools. 

  • Must be comfortable coaching/training other team members as well as educating developers on security best practices.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Must be authorized to work in the Puerto Rico without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder).

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience assessing the risk of third-party applications 

  • Knowledgeable in advanced assessment techniques to evaluate the risk posture of various applications 

  • Typically requires a University Degree and at least 4 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience   

  • Experience explaining technical terms to non-technical business partners.
