You will be part of a growing product development team that delivers new and existing products and services within the Pensions group.Application Support Analyst is a great career choice for anyone who enjoys thinking analytically and digging for evidence to answer questions and solve problems. If you’re the kind of person who wants to find the answer whenever you hear an interesting question, business analysis will be right up your alley.As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflowsWork closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and challengesEnsure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issuesContribute to the identification and escalation of gaps within the business requirements and testing scenarios that could impact testingAnticipate issues and make recommendations to mitigate risks; support ad-hoc analysis to identify the root cause of issues and resolve issues in a timely manner ensuring minimal disruption to stakeholdersExtracting data from various source systems and data storesParticipate in activities related to year-end system updatesRecommend and implement solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the businessUnderstanding and communicating financial and operational impact of any changesBuilding and maintaining strong working relationships with multiple levels of clients, team, and partnersCollaborating with IT and Business staff to recommend and develop solutions for identified business requirements and needsTo succeed in this role, you have:Post-secondary education / accreditation in job related field or related experience, as well as additional course work in pension administration (PPAC designation or progress towards PPAC designation)Good understanding of Pension AdministrationA track record of “thinking outside the box” and looking at a challenge through multiple lensesExperience of applying innovative solutions and working with business stakeholders to challenge the status quo, deliver solutions that tackle business problems and meet business requirementsKnowledge of systems development life cycle, IT processes and ability to grasp complex technical concepts and translate it into business languageStrong ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure to meet deadlinesExperience in writing Non-Functional RequirementsStrong analytical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex situations and synthesize relevant informationExcellent communication skills and ability to share and exchange ideas with your team members and managementHigh integrity and discretion to ensure the confidentiality of sensitive informationAble to work independently and as part of a teamEagerness to constantly learn and update your skills in our cross-platform environment, and you like to share knowledge with othersKnowledge and understanding SQL and database concepts will be an assetAs one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, our people-first culture is at its best when our workforce reflects the communities where we live and work — and the members we proudly serve.From hire to retire, we are an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection process that extends all the way through your employee experience.
