About the Opportunity: We are hiring an Assistant HSE Engineer with CDM to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team.About the roleThis role supports a key client’s nuclear fleet across the UK. Based in Dunbar, occasional travel to other UK sites/stations will be required. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be accountable for project delivery directly to the client. Your role will include providing positive leadership on HSE matters, fostering a proactive HSE culture, and driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.Key Responsibilities

• Support local Site Management Teams in implementing the 3P Plan.
• Develop and implement project-specific HS procedures.
• Ensure compliance with statutory HSE requirements, including CDM regulations, through pre-construction information, construction phase health and safety plans, and compliance audits.
• Assist in contractor management, including selection, method statement reviews, risk assessments, and on-site monitoring.
• Provide HSE advice and guidance to all project stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver project-specific HSE inductions. Prepare monthly HSE performance reports and identify areas for improvement.
• Record, investigate, and report accidents, assisting with the CAP process and OPEX material development.
• Promote consistent use of Energy HU Tools across projects through monitoring and coaching. Support regulatory agency interactions and facilitate HSE walks, sharing findings with the Construction Manager.
• Collaborate with Station ISE and Environmental Safety Engineers to coordinate work and share best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• HNC in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent.
• Current knowledge of CDM Regulations and a minimum of a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
• A National Diploma is desirable.
• Membership in IOSH and an IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management are desirable.
• Experience as an HSE professional in a highly regulated, operational environment, including contractor management and accident investigation/reporting.
