The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Management team in the daily operations of the store and plays a key supervisory role. This position has a strong focus on customer service and driving team productivity. Through modelling effective leadership behaviours and personal accountability, the Assistant Store Manager helps to set the standard for performance excellence at the store and contributes to creating a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace focused on safety and Kal Tire Way operational behaviours that drive our competitive advantage in the marketplace.Responsibilities

• Ensures operational behaviours are consistently demonstrated at the store
• Demonstrates personal accountability to safety and wellness and promotes a culture where store team members do the same; ensures health and safety information is up to date and communicated
• Ensures store team members are compliant with all legislative, regulatory or company requirements
• Ensures team members are scheduled only for work that they are properly trained and signed off to perform
• Drives customer engagement by coaching team to greet and proactively communicate with customers to improve their experience
• Works collaboratively with Store Manager to implement strategies, plans and ensure supporting activities are completed to deliver expected outcomes
• Coaches store team members on standard operating procedures required for their role to ensure quality and safe and efficient work processes
• Demonstrates support for change and coaches team members through the change process; identifies and manages resistance
• Arranges team member training and coach team members to reinforce learning objectives and outcomes
• Ensures tools, equipment and products are set up and available to enable a productive and efficient work environment
• Participates in hiring, training and seasonal planning
• Handles emerging issues and unplanned situations to ensure customer satisfaction and coaches team members to do the same
• Assists with managing Kal Tire assets and cash flow in accordance with company standards and expectations
• Contributes to a continuous learning environment in the store that supports team member development

Job Requirements

• Proven experience working in a service environment in a supervisory role
• People management – recruiting, managing and assessing performance, supporting career development, identifying growth potential, driving engagement
• Demonstrated knowledge of:

• Tire installation, servicing, and mechanical fundamentals
• Kal’s Choice and other supporting products
• Kal Tire Way operational behaviours
