ASSISTANT STORE MANAGERS OF OPERATIONS are responsible for all outbound activity in respect to the Lumber Yard and Shipping Department. The primary job function is to plan and direct the daily requirements of the Lumber Yard standards, Shipping and Fleet Turnaround Team, as well as coordinate the logistics of all outbound shipments. The right candidate will also be adept at effectively creating, implementing, and directing policies, objectives, and initiatives for the shipping department in conjunction with corporate oversight and goals.This position will be for our Kent Store located at – 62 Colonel Joseph Scott Drive, Lower Sackville NS.What you will do:Ensure all attributes of Health and Safety are maintainedCustomer DeliveriesDay-to-Day Yard OperationsScheduling & Planning EfficienciesOverseeing Shipping, Receiving, Shipping and daily communication with Dispatch & DriversLocation Management Optimize Freight FlowDevelop and implement strategies/initiatives to control and reduce operational costsEstablish, Implement and Measure KPI’sInvolvement in hiring for the teamWhat you bring:3+ years in retail managementStrong verbal and written communication (bilingualism would be considered an asset)Experience in customer serviceAbility to leverage technology for project management, analysis and solving problems (including Microsoft Office Suite)Openness to continuous improvement and responsibility for independent learningFlexible schedule based on retail needsWhat we offer:Medical, Dental, Vision, RRSP Matching, and PTO benefitsAn opportunity to bring your unique personality and join our creative and fun store teamsContinuous learning through a tailored development planGrowth and development opportunities through Kent and the greater J.D.
