The School of Trades and Technology at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC is looking for a Red Seal certified Automotive Service Technician to fill a faculty position. The successful candidate will prepare and deliver all theoretical and practical aspects of the Automotive Service Technician Program. Prior teaching experience is an asset, but not required. The initial appointment is for the period 08/05/2024 to 08/04/2026 (two years, with subsequent years forecasted). The successful candidates wage is determined at the time of the offer and is based upon the candidates’ qualifications (teaching experience, years of Red Seal experience, Certificates and qualifications). Typical starting Trades annual salaries range between $90 – $105k depending on the listed qualifications . Full medical, dental, vision benefits are included in the contract effective immediately, as well as government pension. Workload for one year consists of 34 weeks full time teaching (25 contact hours per week, plus preparation time), 8 weeks of Professional Development, and 8 weeks holidays.
