Our Landscape team have an exciting opportunity for an Associate / Associate Director with Landscape Planning experience to join our Landscape team – working on a broad range of prestigious landscape projects across the country.
This role represents a great opportunity for you to continue to develop your career with one of the UK’s leading Landscape Planning consultancies – taking the lead on a wide range of projects across sectors including urban regeneration, new town settlements, tall buildings, residential/mixed use greenfield development, commercial, infrastructure and energy projects at various stages of the planning process.
Your responsibilities will include leading on landscape/townscape visual impact assessments and providing strategic analysis and detailed design advice. Whilst landscape planning is a focus of the role, you will have the opportunity to continue to develop your landscape design abilities.
As a senior member of our team, you will act as a trusted advisor to our clients, providing strategic advice on landscape planning projects and taking the lead on complex landscape projects. You will be a key part of our management team – working collaboratively to support client development activities and providing mentoring and line management to less senior team members.
You will work collaboratively across our UK Planning and Design teams, including senior colleagues and technical and design specialists in our hub offices of Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, London, Reading and Warrington. As a result, you will benefit from the expertise of a range of skilled and experienced practitioners and develop as a well-rounded professional.
The role can be based from either our Birmingham, Bristol or London offices, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of in-office and home working. Our offices in Birmingham, Bristol, and London (Soho Square) are based in the city centre within easy each of public transport links. Our offices are friendly and sociable places offering a supportive working environment.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to be able to demonstrate your skills and experience within some of the following areas:
Providing strategic landscape planning advice to clients in relation to complex and projects across a variety of sectors
Attendance at Public Enquiries to provide expertise in relation to complex and high profile projects across a variety of sectors
Acting as mentor and helping develop more junior colleagues
Preliminary landscape and visual appraisals to inform the development process
Landscape and visual impact assessments
Conceptual and strategic design sketches as appropriate
Townscape and visual impact assessments and tall building assessments
Strategic assessments of designations such as Green Belts and Strategic Gaps
Landscape Capacity and Sensitivity Studies and character assessments
