Job DescriptionGeneral Summary:The Digital Customer Engagement Associate Director will be part of the International Digital Customer Engagement (DCE) team, owning the development and implementation of an omni-channel marketing strategy for the specified brands or therapy areas in the target markets across the International Region. The incumbent will lead key digital activities that allow Vertex to communicate the brand and portfolio messages to our target audience in a customized way. The incumbent will be responsible for building the omni-channel approach from concept to completion to ensure that Vertex meets business objectives and communicates effectively via various digital channels. This position will work closely with business stakeholders in the International, Global and local teams to ensure that specific needs are identified and incorporated into various digital initiatives. As a digital channel owner, the incumbent will also be responsible for the strategy, delivery and management of digital assets for that channel and delivery of marketing campaign assets based on business requirements. This individual will report to the International DCE Director within the Global Insights, Analytics and Commercial Operations (GIACO) function.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop digital HCP engagement programs that support the goals and objectives of the overall brand strategy
  • Lead HCP promotional digital strategy and plan including execution across Interactive Visual Aids (IVAs) for KAM’s , virtual Peer-to-Peer programmes, web, emails and the selection and execution of digital media programs
  • Guide the business to develop omnichannel campaign plans and an overall vision and strategy around digital campaigns
  • Drive the execution of digital campaigns in close collaboration with other GIACO, Data Technology & Engineering (DTE) and commercial colleagues
  • Work with DTE, multiple vendors, and agencies to ensure the organization’s processes, budget, and platforms are operating effectively to support the commercial business needs
  • Manage current and future digital assets by setting content priorities, facilitating timely development and deployment, and partnering with business partners, agencies and other internal teams to execute required tasks
  • Establish key performance indicators for key materials and channels to measure and ensure effectiveness of their impact and return on investment, working closely with the Insights and Analytics team
  • Establish and maintain a strong team understanding of the external digital landscape and internal requirements to proactively identify new improvements to platforms and campaigns
  • Be the first point of contact to provide support with any digital strategy or execution related queries for commercial colleagues within the relevant disease area/s
  • Build and prioritize capability roadmap with clear milestones, dependencies and ensure clear lines of communication with global platform development teams
  • Establish collaborative and productive, professional relationships with key stakeholders, including commercial leads, North American and International digital marketers, DTE teams, as well as creative and digital production agencies
  • Acts as a resource for team members with less experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience working in a Pharma/ biotechnology company, preferably in a marketing or digital function
  • Strong Digital execution experience in multichannel and/or omnichannel marketing
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with demonstrated ability to execute ‘hands on’ while being innovative and flexible
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate compelling digital marketing concepts and complex ideas to cross-functional audiences at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with creating and managing digital product and content roadmaps
  • Excellent time-management skills and comfortable working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced and results-driven environment where we are concurrently learning & building
  • Experience managing complex internal and external partner relationships involving creative, digital, and media agencies
  • Able to develop rapport and credibility with key stakeholders and comfortable influencing and leading without authority across functions and geographies
  • Detail orientation and strong organization, prioritization and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Experience coaching or leading more junior team members
  • Demonstrated understanding of the legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements for pre-and post-approval activities
  • Expertise in measurement and analytics of digital programs
  • Ethics and integrity mindset

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, scientific area, or related field
  • Typically requires relevant experience leading the delivery of customer facing digital promotional programs to promote products and services to external HCP customers, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
