Since our start in 2012, we have planted over 105 million trees around the world, and we’ve set our sights on planting 1 billion by 2030.Who are we looking for?We are looking for a strong Associate Merchant who will be responsible for assisting in the creation of the product assortment and line plans based on sales facts and marketplace trends. Using strong analytical skills and entrepreneurial spirit, the successful candidate will independently manage a portion of the business with full ownership, to ensure tentree has the right merchandise at the right time to maximize sales and propel the brand forward.The Associate Merchant will work closely with the Merchandising team to identify and action new opportunities, while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth handoff of product line information.What will you be doing?Pre-Season Line Planning

  • You will research marketplace trends and competitive analysis
  • You will analyze past and current season performance (D2C and Wholesale) and propose carry-over styles and colors
  • You will propose line architecture for each season and actively manage line changes and PLM with all style information
  • You will quantify proposed seasonal buy and reorder opportunities
  • You will partner with cross-functional teams on capsule collections and seasonal drop initiatives
  • You will identify style/fabric franchise opportunities that align with our Brand DNA and assist with naming
  • You will ensure styles are achieving target margin and delivery, and execute on original slot intention

In-Season Analysis

  • You will analyze weekly sales reports identifying opportunities to drive sales and propose exit strategies for poor performers
  • You will report weekly sales recap to Merchant/Cross-functional teams
  • You will conduct frequent review of the websites to ensure products are launched and merchandized effectively
  • You will partner with the Merchant/Inventory departments to review inventory management and Open-To-Buy on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • You will manage cross-functional meetings ensuring that GTM calendar checkpoints are achieved on time
  • You will review Proto samples to ensure execution of ask is delivered and styles are achieving target margin and delivery
  • You will actively manage all PLM merchandising information by style
  • You will provide recommendations to Merchant to support markdown strategies, new product launches, and key events

Post-Season Inventory Analysis

  • You will analyze past season product performance (D2C and Wholesale) and Ecom inventory sell-through, identifying what worked, what didn’t, and what was learned
  • You will gather feedback from cross-functional teams on past season performance on all channels
  • You will report quarterly sales recap to cross-functional team leads

Requirements:Professional Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in apparel merchandising/buying
  • Familiarity with business systems and applications, such as PLM
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent sense of style, colour and trends; focus on sustainability is considered an asset

A typical hiring range for this position is $65,000 – $82,000 CAD per year with the final salary offer based on your qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
