The department comprises several complementary functions focused on the progression of a portfolio of biopharmaceuticals from initial antibody discovery, expression and characterisation to molecular engineering and biological and physiochemical profiling.We are currently seeking three lab-based graduate scientists to join the Antibody Pharmacology group within Large Molecule Discovery. Antibody Pharmacology is a team of 20+ assay scientists, immunologists and biologists. They are accountable for functional assay design and mechanism of action studies to support the discovery and development of antibody therapeutics, from concept through to clinical testing. The team is an integral part of the antibody discovery process and are working in a range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, immunology, respiratory and infectious disease.We would like to hear from enthusiastic, dynamic and self-motivated individuals who have a keen interest in a laboratory-based career. We are seeking a candidate with a background/interest in a range of disciplines including pharmacology, immunology, biomedical sciences, cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology or related disciplines. You will work with teams of scientists with diverse skills including protein biochemists and molecular biologists, as well as in close partnership with other parts of the GSK organisation. You will be designing and performing various biological assays in the drug discovery and antibody characterisation process and the role will provide an exciting opportunity to work closely with functional experts at all stages of the drug development process.Why you?Qualifications & Skills:We are looking for a candidate with these required skills to achieve our goals:Graduate/post-graduate degree or equivalent experience in pharmacology, immunology, biomedical sciences, cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology or related disciplinesAbility to work as part of a team with excellent interpersonal and communication skillsGood analytical and data interpretation skillsAbility to review and assimilate new information effectivelyPreferred Qualifications & Skills:If you have some of the following characteristics, it would be a plus:Previous lab-based experience in cell-based assaysDemonstratable understanding of the antibody discovery processScientific knowledge of antibody structure and functionInterest in fusion proteins, multi-specific antibodies or other formatsInterest in application of automation to biological assaysClosing Date for Applications – 2nd July 2024 (COB)Please take a copy of the Job Description, as this will not be available post closure of the advert.
