This streamlined approach allows schools to prioritise student learning with ease.Job snapshot:As an Associate Software Engineer at Wonde, you’ll collaborate closely with Senior Engineers and the broader Engineering team to help drive key business objectives. You’ll gain hands-on experience with a wide range of tools and technologies, while receiving strong support and mentorship to advance your career in software engineering.What you’ll be doing:
- Offer expert-level guidance and troubleshooting assistance to customers using our API, ensuring smooth integration and resolving any technical challenges in a timely manner.
- Work closely with senior engineers throughout the development lifecycle, from planning to deployment, ensuring new features are delivered on time and align with business goals.
- Play an active role in the upkeep, optimisation, and refactoring of the company’s infrastructure and codebase, ensuring it remains scalable, efficient, and reliable for an exceptional customer experience.
- Participate in rigorous testing of new features, ensuring high-quality standards are met before deployment, and provide feedback to enhance the overall functionality.
- Take part in the design, development, and refinement of both new and existing software, applying best practices to ensure maintainability, performance, and scalability.
- Contribute to shared codebases, ensuring consistent adherence to coding standards and practices across the team, fostering a collaborative and cohesive engineering environment.
RequirementsWhat we’re hoping you’ll bring:
- At least 1 year of experience in a software engineering or development-focused environment
- Familiarity with PHP, with experience in Laravel being a plus
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and implement effective bug fixes
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, fast-evolving industry
- Strong analytical thinking, paired with a creative, problem-solving mindset
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to take initiative, own tasks, and see them through to completion
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work efficiently within a team and communicate effectively across different roles
Technologies we use:
- PHP with Laravel (our language and framework of choice)
- MySQL databases (really big and globally distributed ones)
- Amazon Web Services (from RDS to Lamda, we love tech!)
- Laravel Livewire, Filament, Tailwind.css, Vue.js and similar Javascript frameworks for our front ends
