This position is an entry-level role focused on building foundational UX skills while contributing to user-centered solutions under the guidance of more experienced team members. The incumbent should have some familiarity with user-research, design methods, and agile delivery processes, but will still rely on mentorship for more advanced decision-making. The Associate UX Designer will work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, learning to balance user needs and business goals, and will begin to deepen an understanding of product design best practices.🏢 HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENTVancouver-based team members work in-office every other week (Tues–Thurs). Core attendance is required from 9 AM – 3 PM on these days to support business priorities.💼 A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Contribute to early-stage research and definition: With moderate support from senior designers, help gather and organize user insights using established techniques (e.g., interviews and simple surveys). Under guidance, begin synthesizing data into actionable takeaways.
  • Support ideation and design execution: Participate in idea-generating sessions, contributing sketches or low-fidelity prototypes. Collaborate with teammates to refine concepts, seeking feedback to ensure feasibility and consistency with user needs.
  • Assist in producing design deliverables: Create basic wireframes, user flows, and prototypes using shared design patterns. Based on peer and stakeholder feedback, incrementally improve designs to ensure clarity for developers and product partners.
  • Develop communication and collaboration skills: Present design concepts to immediate team members. Ask thoughtful questions and share updates proactively so stakeholders are kept informed. Seek ways to strengthen relationships across teams.
  • Grow design process awareness: Apply established design processes in daily tasks (like updating design artifacts). Show accountability for personal commitments and raise potential delays early.
  • Participate in agile routines: Attend stand-ups, grooming, and planning sessions to align with the team’s goals. Gradually learn how agile methodologies shape iterative design and development.
  • Seek feedback and mentorship: Embrace constructive critique and actively pursue advice from more experienced UX designers. Show willingness to learn from mistakes and continuously refine design skills.

You approach challenges with curiosity and are eager to develop your design expertise in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

  • 1+ years of experience in UI design.
  • A portfolio demonstrating an understanding of UX and UI design principles, showcasing student projects, internships, or personal work.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in design tools such as Figma (or similar).
  • Understanding of user research and usability testing concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn from constructive feedback.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a cross-functional team.
  • A proactive and curious mindset with a desire to grow in UX design.
  • 1+ years of experience in UX design (internships or freelance work included).
  • Familiarity with design systems and responsive design principles.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or front-end development concepts.
  • Previous experience conducting user research or usability testing.

  • Salary: $55,000 to $73,000 (based on experience, education & internal parity)
