UCL Careers provides a ‘core’ central service accessible to all students as well as varying degrees of more ‘local’ provision within schools, faculties and individual departments.Within UCL Careers, the Work Related Learning team provides students and graduates with a variety of experiential activities to help them prepare for the workplace by enabling them to develop their understanding of different industries and the in-demand skills.About the roleWe are currently recruiting for a Work Related Learning Officer for the BEAMS faculty cluster (Built Environment, Engineering, Maths & Physical Sciences)As a Work Related Learning Officer, you’ll organise a programme of activities for undergraduate and postgraduate taught students, enabling them to develop their understanding of different industries and build up skills to ensure that the they’re ready for the workplace. The programme includes workshops, hackathons, challenges, competitions, work place visits and other forms of interactive learning that will help our students prepare for the future.The programme is delivered in partnership with recruiters, alumni and other external partners, and with academic staff and other UCL colleagues. Building relationships with all of these groups will be an important part of the job.You will also be responsible for the creation and promotion of engaging marketing materials, gathering relevant labour market intelligence, and collecting participation data and student feedback about the programme.If you have any queries about this role, please contact Sue Zhen Yong (BEAMS Work Related Learning Manager) at .We are currently hiring for another role similar to this. You will have experience of delivering a programme of either work-related learning activities or events and training activities.You will have strong organisational and project management skills and be able to plan for immediate and longer-term objectives and deadlines. You will have the ability to devise, plan and deliver multiple projects simultaneously within tight time scales.You will respond proactively to colleague, student and employer needs with a focus on providing an excellent service and take responsibility for their work.Please note the postholder will be expected to work the occasional evenings during peak periods.
