- Expected Pay Range: The budgeted range starts at $52,000.00 – $71,260.80. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:
- To continually strive to exceed our Guest’s expectations and to provide them with the finest and safest mountain recreation experience.
- Provides leadership, promotes team spirit and cooperative work ethics, as well as providing the most outstanding examples of friendly, cooperative relationships with our guests and other staff within the Bike Park Operations Team.
- Lead the Bike Park Trial Crew, with a positive attitude towards the team, the department, other supporting departments and coworkers, other Vail Resorts Bike Parks, Whistler Blackcomb, and Vail Resorts.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with other departments and managers.
- Lead VR’s core value of “Be Safe” within the Bike Park Team. Understanding the risk while employing staff who ride mountain bikes for work, and ensuring staff assignments on bikes have a work purpose and are safely within the ability of the employee.
- Ensure safety of all staff by conducting training for all equipment and tasks, regular recorded safety talks and meetings.
- Conduct New and Young workers training to all staff and assure completion before they start work.
- Conduct on the job training for all staff whenever new tasks are started.
- Is vigilant of and corrects unusual or unsafe situations anywhere on Whistler/ Blackcomb, whether on duty or off.
- Always show up; with the right attitude, on time, and in uniform.
- Shows initiative in handling routine matters and quickly, thoughtful judgment in emergencies.
- General maintenance and capital construction of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park Trails Network.
- Provide the team recognition when deserved, as well as coaching when needed.
- Be available to listen to the team, and provide candid feedback.
- Represent the departments’ and Vail Resorts’ goals. Provide leadership toward these goals and avoid and diffuse negative “locker room”
- Assist with departmental human resources management, including hiring, disciplinary recommendations, input of payroll in a timely and efficient manner, performance reviews.
- Provide operational support in all areas and respond to emergency, unusual or specific situations with timely manpower and assistance.
- Initial attack Fire Suppression on mountain
- Attend and contribute Daily Ops Call, communicate important messages to the team.
- Attend and contribute to weekly Bike Park Meeting, as well as summer surfaces supervisor team meeting.
- Daily shifts will be approximately 10 hours, and will have clear descriptions of assigned jobs/tasks.
- Responsible for the efficient planning and coordinating of trail maintenance and construction and related work assignments.

Job Qualifications:
- Must have bike trail construction experience.
- Previous supervisory experience an asset.
- Must have experience in the safe and efficient supervision of equipment used in trail construction.
- Able to trouble shoot mechanical problems with equipment an asset.
- Must be physically fit and capable mountain biker.
- Must have excellent physical and mental endurance
- Functional knowledge of mountain operations an asset
- Functional knowledge of the use of a chainsaw is an asset.
- OFA Level 3 an asset
- Must possess a valid B.C. Driver’s License and may be required to provide a satisfactory “N”-Print driver’s abstract.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must bring a packed lunch-no access sometimes to facilities or amenities during shift.
- Flexible schedule an definite asset
