Are you a seasoned professional with a knack for identifying client needs, overcoming challenges, and aligning business objectives with innovative solutions? If so, we want you to join our UK Commercial Sales team at Iron Mountain as a Business Development Director (BDD).

As a Business Development Director you will play a crucial role in driving new revenue streams and fostering lasting client partnerships. With a strong client-centric focus, you will leverage your expertise to identify client needs, challenges, and priorities, aligning them with Iron Mountain’s solutions. This role requires a self-driven individual who is comfortable working remotely and traveling to meet clients face-to-face. Experience within the Manufacturing and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sectors, coupled with a proven track record in strategic selling, is highly advantageous.

Your role in our mission

  • Strategic Growth Planning: Develop a robust growth strategy for the Manufacturing sector, targeting both new and existing accounts. Build a strong pipeline within the first 3 months by identifying target organizations and crafting compelling sales propositions.

  • Revenue Targets: Achieve sales growth targets and ensure the continued expansion of the pipeline.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively within Iron Mountain’s matrix organization, demonstrating leadership and adaptability.

  • Account Management: Provide detailed Account and Close Plans, proactively identifying senior contacts, business objectives, and strategic growth opportunities.

  • Tender Management: Lead the management of upcoming tenders, negotiate prices, and close deals while maintaining accurate forecasts.

  • Client Needs Analysis: Understand and interpret client needs, negotiate and close deals, and implement intricate contractual obligations.

  • Relationship Building: Establish new senior contacts across multiple parts of client organizations, relevant to Iron Mountain’s solutions and services.

Valued skills and experience

  • Proven track record in business development roles, with a focus on strategic selling and achieving sales growth targets.

  • Experience in the Manufacturing and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sectors, particularly in digital document solutions, data management, SaaS, or ECM.

  • Strong client-centric focus with the ability to identify client needs, challenges, and priorities, and align them with Iron Mountain’s solutions.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, capable of engaging with senior contacts across multiple parts of an organization.

  • Ability to develop and execute clear strategic plans for growth, including mapping a robust sales pipeline and crafting compelling sales propositions.

  • Willingness to travel to meet clients face-to-face, combined with the ability to work autonomously and manage responsibilities remotely.
