Ynglŷn â’r rôl:
Rydym yn chwilio am Reolwr Datblygu Busnes sydd â hanes o gyflawni cynlluniau tyfu sefydliadol
ac adnabod a sicrhau ffrydiau incwm amrywiol (grant, prosiect a gwasanaethau masnachol) yn y
sector mentrau cymdeithasol.
Cyd-destun:
Mae Ynni Cymunedol Cymru (YCC) yn Gwmni Cyfyngedig bychan sy’n tyfu, gyda gwrthrychau
elusennol. Rydym yn gweithio dros ein haelodaeth, gyda thua hanner cant o aelodau sy’n fentrau
cymdeithasol sy’n datblygu neu’n rhedeg prosiectau cynhyrchu ynni (solar, hydro neu wynt) ac yn
ailfuddsoddi elw mewn prosiectau lleol, amgylcheddol a chymdeithasol.
Mae Ynni Teg CYF yn Gwmni Budd Cymunedol, a sefydlwyd yn wreiddiol gan YCC i ddarparu prosiect
tyrbin gwynt yn Sir Gâr ac sydd bellach yn darparu gwasanaethau datblygu prosiect ac ymchwil
technegol i’r sector ynni cymunedol. Mae YCC ac Ynni Teg yn gweithio’n agos gyda’i gilydd i
gefnogi’r sector ynni cymunedol yng Nghymru, ac mae’r swydd yn cael ei chynnig a’i hariannu gan
Ynni Teg. Mae cyllid Ynni Teg yn contractio YCC i ddarparu gwasanaeth datblygu busnes i YCC ac
Ynni Teg yn y lle cyntaf, ond yn ehangach i’r holl sector. YCC fydd eich cyflogwr a’ch rheolwr
llinell, a bydd eich cynllun gwaith yn cael ei gytuno ar y cyd rhwng YCC ac Ynni Teg.
Mae YCC wedi’i strwythuro mewn hierarchaeth rheoli traddodiadol ond yn cyflawni gwaith gyda
ethos o ymgynghori, creu consensws, a rhannu cyfrifoldeb o fewn y tîm. Mae aelodau tîm YCC yn
llawn cymhelliant, yn cael eu cefnogi yn holistaidd, gyda llais cryf ac yn atebol i’w gilydd.
Mae’r sector ynni cymunedol yng Nghymru yn fach ond yn ffynnu, a gyda’r gefnogaeth gywir, mae
ganddo’r gallu i wireddu rhan o dargedau sero net Cymru drwy weledigaeth YCC ‘i gefnogi a
chyflymu system ynni carbon isel, teg, wedi’i harwain gan y gymuned’.
Disgrifiad swydd:
Bydd y Rheolwr Datblygu Busnes yn cymryd rôl flaenllaw yn y Cytundeb Gwasnaeth Datblygu Busnes
gydag Ynni Teg, ac yn sicrhau bod pob allbwn angenrheidiol yn cael eu gwireddu neu eu rhagori.
Yn benodol, byddwch yn cymryd rhan yn y gweithgareddau canlynol:
Marchnata a hyrwyddo:
- Gwneud gwaith ymchwil marchnata ysbeidiol a gweithgareddau marchnata i ddeall tueddiadau’r
farchnad ynni, cyfleoedd busnes a dulliau i hyrwyddo canfyddiadau cadarnhaol o werth a
pherthnasedd y sector ymysg cwsmeriaid/cynulleidfaoedd targed/ arianwyr. - Ymgymryd â gweithgareddau hyrwyddo i godi ymwybyddiaeth am y Sector a’i bwrpas,
cynigion/gwasanaethau i ysgogi cyfranogaeth mewn mentrau ynni cymunedol a pherchnogaeth leol o
asedau ynni cymunedol. - Ymweld â chynadleddau a digwyddiadau i gynrhychioli YCC, Ynni Teg a’r sector.
Strategaethau tyfu, cyfleoedd busnes newydd:
- Datblygu a gweithredu strategaethau busnes i gefnogi twf cynaliadwy’r sector a thyfu
cyfranogaeth mewn perchnogaeth leol. - Datblygu a hyrwyddo modelau busnes / gwasanaethau masnachol newydd i’w darparu / mabwysiadu
gan YCC, Ynni Teg a sefydliadau eraill yn y sector ehangach neu mewn partneriaeth â nhw. - Darganfod, olrhain ac adrodd ar gyfleoedd busnes sy’n codi ledled y sector, ac yn gyhoeddus
(fel ar GwerthwchiGymru), a phenderfynu ar flaenoriaethau ar gyfer y cyfleoedd i’w dilyn. - Arwain ar ddatblygiad cyfloedd busnes penodol, cyflwyno ceisiadau a sicrhau contractau.
- Sefydlu strwythurau sefydliadol a chytundebau cyflawni gwasanaeth gyda phartneriaid a
chyflenwyr allweddol.
Sicrhau cyllid:
- Chwilio’n weithredol am becynnau ariannu/cyllid i gefnogi cyfleoedd busnes newydd a
phresennol, gan ddilyn y strategaethau twf a gytunwyd rhwng YCC ac Ynni Teg. - Tracio cyfleoedd cyllid grant sydd i’w gweld yn gyhoeddus, adrodd a chytuno ar gyfleoedd
allweddol rhwng partneriaid ac arwain ar gyflwyno ceisiadau.
Datblygu cysylltiadau allweddol:
- Datblygu a chadw cysylltiadau adeiladol gyda chyfranogwyr allweddol yn y sector cyhoeddus a
masnachol ynghyd â’r trydydd sector – sefydliadau sy’n aelodau, cleientiaid, partneriaid,
Llywodraeth Cymru, cyrff cynrychiadol, asiantaethau, arbenigwyr ayb. - Rhwydweithio gydag aelodau YCC yn y sector i ddeall eu hangenion/gallu, i ymchwilio a
rhannu syniadau, ennill adborth ar brosiectau llwyddiannus/gwersi sydd wedi’u dysgu a chanfod
cyfleoedd i dyfu ac i gryfhau cynaliadwyedd ariannol. - Canfod cyfleoedd addas ar gyfer partneriaeth drwy weithio gyda sefydliadau o fewn y sector
ynghyd â sectorau eraill.

About the Role:
We are looking for a Business Development Manager with a track record in delivering
organisation growth plans and identifying and securing multiple income streams (grant, project
and commercial services) in the social enterprise sector.
Context:
Community Energy Wales (CEW) is a small and growing Limited Company with Charitable objects. We
are a membership organisation with around fifty social enterprise members all developing and /
or operating renewable energy generating projects (solar, hydro and wind) and reinvesting
profits in associated local and environmental development activities.
Ynni Teg CYF is a Community Benefit Society, originally founded by CEW to deliver a wind
turbine project in Carmarthenshire and is now a fast-growing team delivering technical research
and project development services to the community energy sector. CEW and Ynni Teg work closely
together to support the community energy sector in Wales, and the post offered is funded by
Ynni Teg. Ynni Teg’s funding contracts CEW to provide a business development service to CEW
& Ynni Teg in the first instance, but more widely to the whole sector. Your employer and
your line manager will be CEW, and your workplan will be jointly agreed between CEW and Ynni
Teg.
CEW is structured in a traditional management hierarchy but delivers its work with a committed
team ethos of consultation, consensus, transparency, and shared responsibility. CEW team
members are highly motivated, holistically supported, have a strong voice and are accountable
to each other.
The community energy sector in Wales is small but thriving and, with the right support, it has
the potential to contribute to Wales’s net zero targets in line with CEW’s vision ‘to support
and accelerate a low carbon, fair and community led energy system’.
Job Description:
The Business Development Manager will take the lead role in delivering the Business Development
Service Agreement with Ynni Teg, ensuring that all required outputs are met or exceeded.
Specifically, you will undertake the following activities:
Marketing and Promotion:
- Undertaking periodic market research and marketing activities to better understand energy
market trends, business opportunities and ways to amplify positive perceptions of the value and
relevance of the Sector amongst consumers/target audiences/funders. - Undertaking promotional activities to raise the profile of the Sector and awareness of its
purpose, offers/services to drive up participation in community energy ventures and local
ownership of community energy assets. - Attending conferences and events to represent and promote CEW, Ynni Teg and the Sector.
Growth strategies, new business opportunities:
- Developing and implementing business strategies to support the sustainable growth of the
Sector and increased participation in local ownership. - The development and promotion of new commercial services/business models to be
provided/adopted by CEW, Ynni Teg and other organisations in the wider sector or partnerships
of those parties. - Identifying, tracking and reporting business opportunities arising across the energy
sector, and in the public domain (such as on Sell2Wales), and determining the priority
opportunities to be pursued. - Leading on the development of specific business opportunities, the submission of bids and
securing of contracts. - Establishing organisational structures and service delivery arrangements with venture
partners and key suppliers.
Securing funding:
- Actively pursuing funding/financing packages to support new and existing business
activities, in line with the growth strategy/strategies agreed between CEW and Ynni Teg. - Tracking grant funding opportunities in the public domain, report and agree key
opportunities between the parties and lead on the submission of bids.
Developing key relationships:
- Developing and maintaining constructive relationships with key stakeholders and interested
parties in the public, commercial and third sectors – member organisations, clients, partners,
Welsh Government, agencies, representative bodies, specialist providers etc. - Networking with CEW’s membership organisations in the Sector to understand their
needs/capabilities, to research and share ideas, to obtain feedback on successful
projects/lessons learned and identify opportunities to grow and to strengthen financial
sustainability. - Identify suitable opportunities for partnership working with organisations in the Sector
and other sectors.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will:
- Be an organised, flexible and time-efficient team player.
- Have high levels of self-motivation along with the ability to obtain appropriate levels of
feedback, consensus, and support - Bring some network of existing contacts and knowledge of the funding landscape for social
enterprise in Wales - Demonstrate experience or a credible interest in the community energy sector.
- Understand the importance of budget setting, project costing and overhead budgeting in
building organisational sustainability - Demonstrate experience of successful grant applications (capital and revenue), and
successful contract negotiations - Demonstrate understanding of the commercial processes and agreements associated with
agreeing contracts and particularly consultancy work - Be able to regularly attend in person team meetings in Cardiff and our annual conference or
other member events across Wales - Be an excellent communicator
- Spoken and / or written Welsh or a willingness to learn Welsh are highly desirable. CEW
supports those wishing to develop their Welsh language skills and has a strong commitment to
bilingualism, with many members rooted in first language Welsh speaking communities.
