Business Lead, Corporate PlanningPermanent Full-TimeJob Band: FThe Business Lead, Corporate Planning, will play an important role in driving OntarioMD’s strategic initiatives by leading stakeholder engagement, business analysis, and project management efforts. This role will focus on fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, conducting in-depth research and financial analysis, and ensuring the successful execution of projects aligned with OntarioMD’s corporate objectives. The ideal candidate will be adept at developing business cases, foster stakeholder relationships, lead cross-functional teams, and manage projects in the healthcare IT sector.Working closely with the Manager, Project Management Office, your responsibilities will include:Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparent communication and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder forums to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • Liaise with diverse groups, including Ontario Health, Ministry of Health representatives, clinician practices, vendors, and other institutions, to explain the benefits, responsibilities, and progress of digital health initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver communication materials and business presentations tailored to various audiences.

Business Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis, including current state market assessments, financial and feasibility evaluations, and competitive landscape reviews.
  • Develop business cases by synthesizing research findings into actionable recommendations that address strategic goals and financial feasibility.
  • Coordinate activities for the approval of business cases, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and securing stakeholder buy-in.
  • Lead the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), evaluation processes, and contract negotiation activities.

Project Management:

  • Manage projects, including detailed planning, requirements gathering, scope definition, timeline creation, budget, and target deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality project documentation, including business cases, proposals, project charters, statements of work, detailed project plans, project status reports, and executive briefings.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and roadblocks, ensuring smooth execution and maintaining transparency with stakeholders.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to evaluate the success of projects.
  • Provide regular project updates to OntarioMD senior leadership, the Board, the Project Management Office (PMO), and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement within the PMO by refining project management practices, frameworks, tools, and templates.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance OntarioMD’s strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Requirements that are important to us:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare, information technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in stakeholder engagement and business analysis.
  • Proven ability to develop comprehensive business cases and conduct financial and feasibility analyses.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects in healthcare IT from inception to completion
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with Ontario’s healthcare system and relevant organizations, such as Ontario Health and the Ministry of Health, is an asset.
  • Proficiency in tools and methodologies related to business analysis, market research, and project management.
