Overview

Are you looking for a position that is hybrid-remote and part-time? We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic and inclusive staff member to join our Children, Youth and Family (CYF) Division as a Call Center Intake Specialist!

Intake Specialists work in a fast-paced, supportive, and positive environment providing phone intake for initial referrals for child protection and adult protection. This position primarily answers community member questions and takes referrals over then phone, and then works within different computer systems to process the information gathered from phone calls. In addition, temporary Intake Specialists may be asked to help with tasks within the department, including transportation for children who have scheduled visitation. 

This is a temporary position that is anticipated to work 10 to 20 hours per week depending on coverage needed. Shift coverage can vary between the hours of 7am to 7:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

Specifically this position:

  • Conducts phone interviews and documents child protection and adult protection referrals.
  • Monitors and manages a group email to ensure task follow up.
  • Provides crisis management to clients and community members.
  • Acts as and provides resources to clients and community members.
  • Manages walk-ins from both clients and community members.
  • Assesses runaways and juveniles who have been picked up or arrested within Larimer County.
  • Communicates to team members and supervisors regarding shift changeover processes
  • Picks up full-time workers’ shifts on both scheduled and emergent bases.

We are looking for a candidate who will: 

  • Have good interviewing skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage crisis situations.
  • Have knowledge of different computer systems and community resources.
  • Think critically through difficult situations.
  • Use good time management and organization skills and be able to manage and prioritize tasks based on urgency.

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

  • Two (2) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s Degree, or equivalent education, from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, certification as a Notary Public required.

Supplemental Information

This is a temporary position. It does not currently have a scheduled end date, but continuation of this position is budget dependent.

This is a hybrid position and will require at least one day per week in the office. You will be required to have adequate internet access and space for remote work. Larimer County provides an annual remote work stipend to assist with equipment and office supply needs for remote workspaces. In office work will be located at one of the following three locations: 1501 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins, CO 2555 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins, CO 200 Peridot Avenue, Loveland, CO.
