Support the Home Manager with key targets by promoting and practicing high standards of nursing care, and ensuring staff and shifts are supervised in a smooth manner.
Manage the home in the absence of the Home Manager.
Assist the Home Manager with the audit process to ensure that the service is compliant with regard to all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.
Support the Home Manager with ER related matters (e.g. absence management and disciplinary hearings).
Overseeing all aspects of medicine management and ensuring the safe administration of medication in accordance with NMC Standards.
Ensuring through clinical governance and leadership that the care, health and safety of all residents is effectively implemented.
Maintenance of records and paperwork including care plans and medication documentation.
Ensure that care quality standards are constantly achieved
Skills and Qualities:
You will be a qualified Nurse with a strong clinical background
Having strong communication and leadership skills.
Be able to handle difficult situation effectively and in a timely manner
Proven management experience in a similar role.
You will be able to lead and motivate a team working and create a positive working environment.
Essential for the role:
Proven management experience at a similar level
A clinical background as a registered nurse
Established leadership skills to manage large teams
Effective multi-tasking and prioritization
Strong commercial awareness – care industry preferred but not required
You’ll be up to date with current evidence based practice and have a working knowledge of CQC Standards and Regulations and will work using your initiative making effective decisions to improve care quality
A Registered Manager with relevant experience in a senior management capacity is desirable
