Role: Category Lead Engineering Services, Scientific R&DLocation: Hybrid [Reading Office 2 days]Salary: £800 – £850 p/d Outside IR35OverviewDo you want to be a part of a major programme investing in UK wide infrastructure projects focused on increasing potential and capability that is lead by a global organisation with a huge opportunity for impact?We are looking for capable and experienced procurement professionals who can identify potential cost saving across an incredibly mature organisation. You will need to look manage multiple sourcing activities whilst navigating the world of private commercial enterprise and heavily regulated industry.You will need strategic knowledge of procurement across Indirect Services specifically with an evidenced approach of Category Management cost saving achievements where you have analysed identified, designed and implemented specific category strategies optimising procurement processes, targeted at identifying cost saving opportunities.The hiring company are at the start of a huge investment cycle – hence growth in team as they prepare to launch £1bn + tenders to contract out 3 -5 year services shortly.Key Requirement:This is a great opportunity to support a large and diverse category portfolio in Engineering Services, Scientific R&D Procurement.The Category Lead is accountable for the end to end performance for the category group and for driving and managing multimillion-pound procurement projects running large complex sourcing activities.I am looking for Category Specific Experts who have deep knowledge of chosen specialism. This is a great opportunity to work on large infrastructure investment programmes – of considerable size, scale, spend value and complexityYou will need Commercial and Procurement experience and be required to

• Lead the development of category strategies within assigned categories with the objective of specifically identifying cost savings

• Analyse spend and contracts and identify opportunities for cost savings

• Ensure the category strategy is developed in collaboration with business stakeholders and delivers demonstrable cost savings to AWE

• Develops a clear plan for strategy implementation with buy in from the business

• Provides direction, guidance and coaching to the relevant Category Managers to secure successful delivery
