UNFS currently operates retail venues across campus ranging from small grab and go cafe’s to high volume food court operations.The Chef de Partie (C.D.P.) is responsible for participating in the day to day retail, residential and/or catering operations and overseeing First and Second Cooks within their designated areas. The Chef de Partie performs duties as assigned by the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and/or Sous Chef as per established standards of operation.Job RequirementsRequired Qualifications:

  • Must be physically able to lift 10-20lbs numerous times each day and up to 50 lbs. several times a day. Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. frequently. Requires long periods of time standing, and frequent bending, overhead reaching, and twisting motions.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekday, weeknight, and weekend shifts Must have excellent knife handling skills
  • Must maintain proper personal hygiene in accordance with UNFS policy

Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend English and be able to follow written and oral instructions accurately.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and be able to prioritize multiple duties as required. Excellent interpersonal skills and a service oriented attitude.
  • Must be computer literate and able to function in Word, Excel, utilize on line portals, access emails etc. Must be familiar with customer service and food service principles.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Must have a proactive and confident approach in supervising a team as well as upholding all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Must know provincial practices of food service sanitation standards in addition to having good personal hygiene and safety.

Specialized Knowledge/Education: (Required)

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Completed Apprenticeship training or Trade Equivalent
