Job Description: Chef de PartieLocation: Dumfries and Galloway, ScotlandJob Type: Full-timeSalary: £30,000 – £32,000 per annumJob Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Manage a section of the kitchen and oversee the activities of the kitchen staff working in that section.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standard of hygiene in the kitchen.
• Assist in menu planning, maintaining profitability, and ensure food costs are managed effectively.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operation and timely food service.
• Monitor inventory levels, place orders for food supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Maintain equipment and kitchen tools, reporting any repairs or replacements needed to the head chef.

Essential Qualifications:

• Proficiency in culinary arts with a strong understanding of various cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Strong cooking skills with hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

Desired Experience:

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
• Experience in training or leading kitchen staff is preferred.
• Background in catering activities and restaurant operations.
