Chief Clinical Excellence OfficerPHSA CorporateVancouver, BCThe Chief Clinical Excellence Officer (CCEO) reports to the Executive Vice President, Clinical Policy, Planning & Partnerships and works to develop and sustain a lean, efficient, and effective province-wide health system planning framework with the accompanying infrastructure necessary for provincial program and provincial network excellence. This infrastructure will ensure health care and systems are focused on:

  • Refining existing care using best clinical experience, intelligence and evidence;
  • Evolving health services making incremental improvement to service delivery using best data, clinical intelligence and modern business models;
  • Redesigning and transforming systems using and contributing to research and innovation.

What you’ll doThis inaugural CCEO is a future-thinking change agent with a demonstrated track record of building and sustaining innovative programs at a health system level. A systems thinker, they communicate a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap for developing and sustaining lean and efficient core support and infrastructure services necessary for province-wide networks and programs to be their most efficient and effective. A humble and collaborative relationship builder, they identify and effectively collaborate with a wide variety of diverse partners including internal and external clinical, research, and innovation partners, as well as with ministry, health authority and academic partners.The CCEO will wholeheartedly partner with others in the organization to ensure Indigenous-specific anti-racism, Indigenous Cultural Safety, and DEI strategic priorities are being actioned, and holds a steadfast commitment to diversity and creating a just system where Indigenous and other voices that have been systemically excluded are platformed and supported to lead change. Human Rights Code.What you bringWith multiple years of experience in a senior leadership and influencing role in a complex partner environment, preferably in the health sector, the CCEO also ideally possesses an Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline. An MBA or Master of Health Care Administration would be an asset.Skills & Knowledge

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments found in the foundational documents – including Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan and Remembering Keegan: A First Nations Case Study – and how they intersect across the health care system.
  • Models and supports full team commitment to Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility.
  • Continually demonstrates humility in relational and collaborative approaches to leading.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).

Job Type: Regular Full-TimeSalary Range: $187,972 – 281,960/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
