Adecco is currently hiring a full-time highly skilled Chief Engineer – Class 1 to oversee the Steam and Gas department operations, ensuring compliance with provincial Power Engineers Act and Regulations. This role requires expertise in high-pressure boilers, auxiliary equipment, and a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.If you are a dedicated Chief Engineer looking to lead a critical department in a fast-paced environment, apply today!Pay Rate: $90K – $110K/year (based on experience)Location: Richmond, BCJob type: Permanent | Full-timeResponsibilities:Operations & Compliance:Safely and efficiently manage the Steam and Gas department in accordance with provincial regulations.Ensure compliance with BC Technical Safety requirements for pressure vessel repairs, alterations, and installations.Develop and implement standard operating procedures for boiler house equipment.Oversee maintenance and operation strategies to enhance efficiency, energy conservation, and environmental performance.Safety & Training:Lead safety programs, establish objectives, and track progress.Engage personnel in reviewing and modifying safe operating and lock-out procedures.Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols by providing necessary training and tools.Leadership & Maintenance Planning:Delegate responsibilities to Shift Engineers and Firemen to ensure safe operations.Plan, coordinate, and lead annual maintenance shutdowns, ensuring safe and efficient execution.Provide coaching and leadership to the team, fostering professional development.Qualifications:Valid BC 1st Class Power Engineer Certificate (or a minimum of 6 exams completed towards certification).Strong knowledge of high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment.Ability to analyze utility systems and recommend cost-saving measures.Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in a dynamic environment.A safety-first mindset with experience implementing safety programs.Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in CanadaAre you interested in this position?
